We often forget the importance of having titles in our videos in our hurry to get to the images. Titles are words that appear on the screen while the video is running. These may be simple words or credits but it makes up a good video. These words literally tells the viewers the name of the movie, who were the people who produced it, who played the particular role, even the catering service who provided food for the enitre crew and cast. In a movie, the title can impart important details like a specific location within a scene, time and date. There are two basic categories of titles in a video. A full screen and overlays. A full screen title usually comes at the start and end of a movie. And overlays are inserted in a specific image within the movie.

The fast paced life that we are living in have brought technological advances in digital cameras and video camcorders to make our lives much easier to live. 2. Assemble Editing:

Here the video shots are not structured in a specific order during shooting but are rearranged and unneeded shots are deleted at the time of transferring .This process requires, a Camcorder and VCR at the least. The original footage remains intact, but the rearranged footage is copied to a new. tape. Each scene is then “assembled” on a blank tape either one-at-a-time or in a sequence.

There are two types of Assemble Editing:

A Roll—A Roll is editing from a single source, with the option of adding effects, such as titles or transitions from a frozen image as the start of the next cut or scene.

The first concept is called capture. You have to move all of the footage out of the camera and onto your computer’s hard disk. There are three ways to do this:

1. You can capture all of the footage in a single file on your hard disk. A half hour of video footage might consume 10 gigabytes of space. (Note that some operating systems and video editing software packages limit file size to 2 gigabytes. Other packages put a 30-minute limit on file size.)
2. You could bring it in as five or 10 smaller files, which together will total 10 gigabytes but will be a little more manageable.
3. You can have a piece of software bring in the footage shot by shot. Adobe Premiere can do this manually, but a program like DVGate Motion (which comes standard on many Sony computers) can automatically scan the tape, find the beginning and end of every shot, and then bring them all in. Each shot will be in a different file when it’s done. If you have access to a program like this, it makes your life very easy.
