We often forget the importance of having titles in our videos in our hurry to get to the images. Titles are words that appear on the screen while the video is running. These may be simple words or credits but it makes up a good video. These words literally tells the viewers the name of the movie, who were the people who produced it, who played the particular role, even the catering service who provided food for the enitre crew and cast. In a movie, the title can impart important details like a specific location within a scene, time and date. There are two basic categories of titles in a video. A full screen and overlays. A full screen title usually comes at the start and end of a movie. And overlays are inserted in a specific image within the movie.

The fast paced life that we are living in have brought technological advances in digital cameras and video camcorders to make our lives much easier to live. With these advancements, we now have the power to easily take and save our photos and precious images and videos. We can store them in tiny flash drives that can store up to around 1000 pictures or even more. that will totally depend on the storage capacity. And we can later show these precious shots of us or our loved ones to our friends. Share sentiments and laughter.  But because these miracle gadgets try to store the captured moments in high quality possible, there is an ever increasing demand for higher file storage capacity. Thats were the problem lies. Unfortunately, hard drives, though it has large capacity for storage, as high as 1 Terabyte, it still is finite. And video formats nowadays are hungry for more disk space. It will just fill that up in no time. Luckily, there are Video Converters. These are programs that compresses or converts your saved video files to your preferred video file format. This will greatly reduce hard drive use.

Computers were designed to make things easy and faster for the users. That applies  for using computers for video editing. It simply saves you a huge amount of time. Familiarity  with the computer can finish the job within a few hours. Digital Video Editing as it has come to be known revolutionized the video editing industry. Its as simple as take a video or a shot then connect your camcorder to the computer. After that you can start editing, add whatever filters or titles you want to put. Effects come in various packages. The computer plays an important role in making a great video. First you must install a video editing software. Check your computer. You must have a CPU processor that is fast. The CPU processor is the life of the computer for this is where information is stored. A fast CPU produces better edited videos and you could check or preview the video at present time. Large hard drives is the next thing to acheck in using computers for video editing. You will not only use software for editing but usually the files of the video are large therefore consuming a large space on your hard drive. This is essential in creating a high quality video. It is also recommended that you get an external hard drive so that you will still have enough space for your computers hard drive.

You can capture all of the footage in a single file on your hard disk. A half hour of video footage might consume 10 gigabytes of space. (Note that some operating systems and video editing software packages limit file size to 2 gigabytes. Other packages put a 30-minute limit on file size.)

You could bring it in as five or 10 smaller files, which together will total 10 gigabytes but will be a little more manageable.

Adobe Premiere can do this manually, but a program like DVGate Motion (which comes standard on many Sony computers) can automatically scan the tape, find the beginning and end of every shot, and then bring them all in. Each shot will be in a different file when it’s done. If you have access to a program like this, it makes your life very easy.

Maintenance is a vital part of getting good video footage and caring for your stuff allows faults to be found preventing failure in the middle of your video taking work. Bateries like most equipment need proper care and monitoring for they do have a defined lifespan (mostly in the number of charge-duscharge cycles). Today’s batteries are some of the most sophistictaed ones ever in the video world, with some having active monitoring and using high tech nmaterials that offers longer charge times resulting in more video footage per battery pack. New batteries have to be conditioned (complete charge/discharge cycles, meaning using all the charge up till the device turns itself off then allowing it to fully charge again before reusing it for at least 3 times) This ensures the battery maximizes its potential with respect to the amount of charge it can hold which in time diminishes as the chemicals within breaks down (all batteries do this) till they cannot hold enough of a charge for a long time.
For a serious videographer, sveral battery packs are best for it allows you to lock and load in no time at all. Some even have back-up cameras and power packs on stand-by giving ample power for your video needs.

It is not only dizzying but also prevents you from easily editing your recordings according to the scenes. Experts recommend at least 8 seconds of video on a subject that has ample material to be taken out as you compose your work into the final product. Footage you fail to focus on but deem to be vital later cannot be reshot as the magic of the moment is surely to have passed you. Planning also avoids this and a well planned shoot allows you to scope out good locations and vantage points to shoot from (just a note, other photographers would be scoping out for the same positions as you are) making your shoot planned and easy to edit when time comes.

It can be easily done with the lens cap on and in an isolated room. It can also be done before getting to bed so background noise is minimized and the tape becomes a true blank ready to take in another seeeion of video. Most CamCorders use a time search feature to search tracks faster, if a tape has old footage onto it, any gaps in the recording woudl result in a reset of the counter getting the scenes mixed up.

Some argue that this only wears the heads faster but it is better to have a worn out head than a dirty one that can fail you in an instant. As time develops, dirt and other debris accumulates onto your heads resulting in dirty footage with gaps and noise, cleaning can be done with approved cleaners form the equipment manufacturers, some even offer professional cleaning services to keep your video equipment in the best possible condition (its quite expensive and is more for professional videographers). Head cleaners are cheap and effective in beating normal dirt and grime on your heads but be sure to check the manuals for any notes on the subject.
