Footage you fail to focus on but deem to be vital later cannot be reshot as the magic of the moment is surely to have passed you. Planning also avoids this and a well planned shoot allows you to scope out good locations and vantage points to shoot from (just a note, other photographers would be scoping out for the same positions as you are) making your shoot planned and easy to edit when time comes.</p>
