iMovie ‘08
In August 2007, iMovie ‘08 was released. Unlike other software program upgrades on every new release, all the visual effects are gone—even basic options like slow motion, reverse motion, fast motion, and black-and-white. Worse, you can’t have more than one project open at the same time!
Anyway, it’s not all that bad. New featured include acompletely redesigned interface with an iPhoto style library, new feature called skimming, feature that allows one to highlight parts of video clips just like highlighting text. There are more exportation formats with support for iPhone size video and many other sizes. There is a support for non-tape based HD or non-HD video cameras such as DVD camcorders and HDD camcorders. But then a lot of features were dropped like video effects and plug-in support, the timeline, the themes, the ability to create DVD chapter markers, several transitions and advanced audio editing and control.
