Less is better – Zooming in

zoomingin.jpgThe zoom feature in most cameras allows you to get nearer to your subject than physically possible. But there’s a bad side to this feature that is enough to cause splitting headaches when your audience watches your film. If you want to zoom into a subject, it is better to zoom in then record, shifting to the wider shot afterwards than zooming into the subject. It would also be a nice idea to get a tripod that would eliminate most of the movements of your hand that is magnified more and more as you zoom in. Most digital camcorders boast 2,000X magnification which is quite useful for landscape shots but of not much use for shooting people for at that distance, it’ll be like looking at ants from a skyscraper.
